Favorite Denim Shorts!

thefashanel

I wanted to spotlight a few pairs of denim shorts from this summer that I have absolutely loved wearing. There are several really good denim brands out there but a few in particular stand out to me for the quality and comfort and those include A&F, Express, and J. Crew. These are my most frequently purchased brands when it comes to denim and I feel very confident in recommending them!

These first two looks are with the Abercrombie & Fitch High Rise Mom Shorts in Light Ripped Wash. They have a lot of different washes available but I had been looking for the perfect light wash and find that this particular brand just does it right. I also feel like this pair has a really healthy amount of distressing to them, not too much but enough to look really cute and casual.

For this look, I paired them with a cream colored sweater tank from H&M, duster kimono from Amazon, Marc Fisher sandals and matching LV bag. The colors of this kimono are absolutely stunning - it's mainly black but the paisley print on the lower third adds just the right touch of wow. Please note that all of the items are linked below each look if you're interested in shopping.

For an even more casual look, I've also paired these A&F shorts with a short sleeve sweatshirt by Beyond Yoga and the Nike Court Sneakers which are super trendy right now.

Now, I typically don't love wearing white bottoms, own very few pairs of white jeans, and just this one and only pair of white shorts. With that in mind, I really wanted to find a pair that I would love wearing enough to want to reach for them when I'm not really feeling it so they had to be super duper comfy. I decided that this Express pair was perfect because of the stretch and the length. The fit is amazing and I am really loving the bright clean look.

For this outfit, I went with a black Leith sweater (which unfortunately is out of stock right now but, I've linked a few similar options below), the clear Travel sandals by Steve Madden, a brown/orangey LV belt, and white Gucci Marmont bag.

So many people are raving about these sandals right now and I have to agree - these are super comfortable. Speaking as someone with very sensitive feet which typically get blistered up by new shoes, these did not give me any when I wore them for the first time! That's a win for me!

The acid wash trend was popular for a hot minute this summer so I decided to get a pair of shorts and jeans in this wash while trying to find some that were not so overpowering and acid-y. I think these are actually really cute, they look washed and a little worn in but not grungy or old. Express has done it again!

Here I have paired them with a retro pair of sunnies from Amazon, the Allsaints Imogen tank, a Rebecca Minkoff saddle bag with a tassel to go with the retro look, and a pair of Steve Madden caged sandals. This is my very subtle take on styling a retro outfit that is still fit for the modern day. Let me know your thoughts on this one and if you would have added any other details.

For this look, I've paired the acid wash shorts (which you can barely see, lol) with an oversized sweatshirt from A&F. I do love their loungewear and their sweatshirts are so very soft! They are out of stock on this Pink Floyd one but have so many other cute graphics available - although, I did try to find a few Pink Floyd ones if you do love this band and are looking for one.

The sandals for this look are either last year's (or the year before?) version of the travel sandals with no ankle strap. I've also linked this year's version named Skyler below, as well as the Valentino Rockstuds that inspired the look.

And for the final pair of shorts, I am featuring the J. Crew button fly classics in black wash. I love this pair the most because of the wash (I just love black bottoms whether it be jeans, skirts, shorts, or anything), I love the detail of the button fly, and these are also super comfy and stretchy.

Similar to one of the looks above, I've paired these here with a short sleeve sweatshirt and sneakers. This was a day that we were walking around and just looking at murals on the side of the train tracks so I wore my comfy Ecco Soft in warm grey and a matching crossbody Coach bag in Mushroom, which unfortunately is not available anymore.
